“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”- Albert Einstein
No two people in the world are the same. Everybody has their own strengths and weaknesses, skill sets and talents. One may be weak in one area, but the master of another. Students should be assessed to determine what their strong suits are; this is something we firmly believe in at Meritorious. They should be directed to the areas where their intelligence and strength lies, and where they fit the psychological profile. If children are groomed additionally in their areas of strength, they will be more confident, and it will boost their self-esteem.
Meritorious Education Network’s Student Development Methodology provides research based instruction and intervention based on individual student’s needs. We use data gathered from assessments to frequently and regular monitor student progress. After analyzing this data we decide how and what to teach students who are not making sufficient academic, social and behavioral progress. At an early stage, we intervene to provide quality instruction and assistance, and work towards our goal to ensure that each and every student is reading and writing fluently. We strongly adhere to the No Child Left Behind Act and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act, and are thus in line with their stance that the needs of individual children need to be addressed, in order to assist them, and help them to the greatest possible extent. The laws stated in these acts help schools focus on intervention for each student, speedy response time of interventions, as well as special focus on students with suspected learning disabilities.
